Hydrant Flushing

The Curran-Gardner Townships Public Water District will be flushing hydrants throughout its distribution system during the month of October, 2020 as a part of its’ regular maintenance program. The bulk of this work will be performed the weeks of October 5-9, October 19-23, and October 26-30.

This program serves the dual purpose of flushing any sediment buildup out of the main as well as confirming that all the hydrants work in the event they are needed for fire protection.

Water may be discolored for up to two hours after a hydrant is flushed but the water is still safe to consume.  However, it is advisable that you wait to do laundry until the water clears up and after you run water to flush out your service line.
